What Trends Are You Currently Seeing Or Anticipate Being Important In The Second Half Of 2021?
The first half of 2021 is coming to a close and the second half of the year will be here sooner rather than later. With the second half of the year, certain trends will arise in the workplace that businesses should take advantage of in order to make their return to the office more effective.
Flexibility Will Be a Must
Flexibility in the workplace has been a hot topic and has been discussed a number of times in recent months. A flexible workplace will allow any worker to be able to work at the office, at home, or even at a third place, once more restrictions start to be lifted and things return to normal. The fact of the matter is that some will be comfortable returning to the workplace, some will won’t want to return right away, and some will want to work from home for the rest of their careers. It is up to organizations and businesses to cater to these needs and create a flexible place to work.

“Trend will include flexibility in all aspects. From how people get to work, how people get into the building, and how they are working. I don’t expect any major trends that don’t follow this rule until we are all comfortable being back at work a few days a week. .”
Consider a More Traditional Approach
Privacy and social distancing will be one of the hottest trends when businesses return to the office. One aspect to consider is a more traditional approach of having panels in between workstations and having space in between desks. An open office can still work but will need to adhere to social distancing guidelines.

“I still see that companies are still staying remote or doing some sort of hybrid. I am also seeing consolidation projects. Some projects seem to also be going back to more of a standard cubical station with taller panels.”
Invest in Private Offices
In the past, a private office would be reserved for someone with senior or executive leadership within an organization, however, with the importance of social distancing and spacing individuals apart, opening up the use of private offices to all individuals is a great way and incentive to get people back to the office in a way that they will be comfortable doing so.
“I foresee a lot of requests to utilize and move into private offices within the workspace.”
