We all struggle to keep an optimist mindset in the middle of a problem. However, if you take a moment to stop and focus on the solution, sometimes our perception of the problem begins to shift. We all are learning to keep growing in life – professionally and personally. We continue to learn from things that happen around us, especially in the workplace with co-workers and peers alike.
You are continuously learning and growing every day. Learning is only effective when you start implementing the wisdom and knowledge you get, in your life. Keeping an open mindset can help you find solutions easier and quicker in the middle of a challenge. This is called a growth mindset.
What is growth mindset?
Carol Dweck, a professor at Stanford University coined the theory of growth mindset. This theory categorizes human learning and intelligence patterns into two categories – fixed mindset and growth mindset.
Fixed mindset is when individuals consider that their abilities and talents are constrained to a fixed set. On the other hand, when individuals believe that they can improve their abilities, intelligence, and talents through their efforts, it is termed as a growth mindset.
Do you have a growth mindset?
You must have heard someone sharing their experience and inspiring you to make an effort to enhance your abilities. If you feel the urge of doing it by making efforts, then you certainly possess a growth mindset.
