Event Details

The John Buck Company Spring Fling began in 1988 when a few JBC founding partners found
themselves in a beer garden one fine spring afternoon. John Buck suggested, so as not to be
deemed a waste of time, that this outing should be viewed, in part, as a charitable function.
Thus, each contributed $50.00 into a hat. A second baseball cap held the names of each
participant’s favorite youth/educational organization. As the waitress pulled the winning name
out of the cap, the first Spring Fling was born.

JBC Spring Fling has grown to include over 2,600 attendees and now averages over $500,000
of net proceeds each year. Since that spring afternoon in 1988, The John Buck Company
Spring Fling Benefit has proudly grown to be considered the lead networking celebration in
the Chicago Real Estate Industry.
