Cassina

Cassina and Le Corbusier have been active players in the design community for nearly a century. Their presence is as relevant today as it was in the late 1920s, when the roots of Cassina were established by brothers Cesare and Umberto Cassina in the northern Italian region of Brianza, and Le Corbusier introduced his juxtaposition of traditional and innovative design in a collection of furniture for day-to-day life.

Timeless Design

The marriage between this manufacturer and designer was made in 1964—one year before Le Corbusier’s death—through an exclusive licensing agreement that helped to blend his iconic designs with modern technology.

Classics for Everyday Life

Cassina began producing LC products, including the iconic LC4 chaise lounge chair, as well as armchairs, sofas, and tables. Though Le Corbusier’s illustrious career came to an end in 1965, his influence was undisputed.

Innovative Fusion

Cassina’s identity lies in innovative fusion of industrial technology with artisan manufacturing. A preeminent design leader and manufacturer of original contemporary furniture, Cassina works with designers to create chairs, sofas, armchairs, and accessories.

LC5

LC5 is Le Corbusier’s interpretation of the armless sofa. This updated version of the classic is the result of a collaboration between the Le Corbusier Foundation and Charlotte Perriand.
