Please join Illinois Green for our upcoming education program, Dig in to the Urban Food System: Production, Policy, Practice and Beyond, which will provide first hand discussion from individuals who work in various fields related to the urban food chain. We’ll dig into the life cycle of urban agriculture and how it’s impacting our communities. The conversation will be moderated by Molly Meyer of Omni Ecosystems.

The panel will include representatives from different aspects of the urban food system. Panelists will touch on production and distribution and how policy and education addresses food access, waste and compost. They’ll share how urban agriculture is having specific social and economic impacts on our communities.

Panelists will include:

  • Molly Meyer, CEO & Founder of Omni Ecosystems (MODERATOR)
  • Micheal Newman-Brooks, Project Manager of Urban Agriculture at City of Chicago Department of Planning and Development
  • Amy Laboy, Senior Director of Programs at the Greater Chicago Food Depository

  • 7:00 PM – 7:30 PM Networking

Continuing Education:

Attendees will be able to self-report 1.0 General CE hour to GBCI toward their LEED AP or LEED Green Associate credential. Self-reporting instructions will be provided after the program.
