Inspired By:
Design as a process inspires me. It’s something we encounter daily—in the products we’re drawn to, the brands we connect with, and the spaces we inhabit that intuitively guide us. Each design decision, from typography to UI, is rooted in principles that align with human perception, shaping the desired look, feel and emotional response. For me, interior design has always been more than just decorating. It’s not about the finishing touches at the end of a project, but the conception of the idea as a whole and the “why” of it all. Design reveals truths about how we interact in the world and how to support certain outcomes. Design is inevitable. Design is psychology. Design is iterative. It’s the subtle design elements I encounter daily, present in the world around me, that continue to inspire me. It is a shared language and love between those who truly appreciate its significance and the core principles that guide it across all fields.
Keys to a Successful Project:
Ultimately, design is about people—the ones you’re designing for and the ones you’re designing with. Clear communication and a shared understanding of project goals are key. When the team is aligned on objectives, roles, and timelines, effective project management keeps everything organized, on schedule, and within budget. Regular feedback and adaptability help refine the design, while attention to detail ensures it meets user needs. Strong teamwork, clear communication, and a well-defined vision turn a good project into a great one.

Interests Outside of Work:
Outside of work, I mainly focus on staying active throughout the city’s seasons. Whether it’s going to the beach for a swim, playing intramural volleyball, or biking along the Lakefront, I enjoy mixing up my workouts with sports, weightlifting, and yoga. Staying active helps me feel grounded and refreshed.
“Shannon’s passion for design, innate talent, work ethic, and dedication to our clients combine to make her a great asset to our team. Her collaborative team-based approach makes her easy and enjoyable to work with.”

Favorite Haworth Collection Piece:
Openest Feather
What Is Special About It:
I absolutely adore the asymmetrical version of the Openest Feather sofa. The curved shape gently orients people toward one another, creating a welcoming atmosphere. Its unique form is both eye-catching and practical, making it a true standout piece.
