Inspired By:
What inspires me most in my daily work is the opportunity to design environments that genuinely improve how people learn, work, and connect. In sectors like education, municipal, and workplace design, the spaces we create are used every single day by a wide range of people, so there’s a real sense of responsibility and excitement in shaping those experiences.
Keys to a Successful Project:
Every successful project begins with a strong client relationship and a clear understanding of their vision and needs. Keeping these goals central while fostering collaboration and clear communication within the design team ensures the final space is functional, effective, and thoughtfully designed.
Which experiences have most influenced how you approach design?
Travel has been a major influence on how I approach design. Experiencing different environments, cultures, and ways of life sparks my creativity and broadens my perspective. It encourages me to consider diverse needs and approaches, helping me design spaces that are truly meaningful for the people who use them.
“Marena is an inquisitive, dedicated, talented, and tenacious designer who approaches each project with an open mind and an eye toward what is best for the client. She is also a joy to be around on a personal level. She has earned this recognition through her work, and we are delighted to be able to honor her.”
