BOS Brew Collaboration
The Lamar Johnson Collaborative
Our first custom Beer Collab with the Lamar Johnson Collaborative was a success. We hosted a release and tasting party at LJC Team’s Chicago Office.
We enjoyed an evening of eating, drinking and celebrating. The LJC Team took home their specialty brew bottles with their beautiful custom labels. What a fun and adventurous experience. Thank you to our brew master, Ogge Schieber.

Our unique and authentic brewing experience in the home of BOS AD Director, Ogge Schieber, who lives in Chicago’s Bronzeville neighborhood. We spent an afternoon brewing, learning, eating and drinking. A delicious German dinner was served during the mashing process.
The Beer we brewed together is a Bavarian Hefeweizen.
Hefeweizen is a type of weiss beer—German for “white beer.” Hefeweizen itself translates to “yeast wheat” in German. Made up of 70% wheat, weiss beers are characterized by a strong presence of banana and clove, even vanilla or bubblegum, in the aroma and flavor – depending on the fermentation temperature.
Purple Grain, Purple Grain! This week we tasted the Hefeweizen that was brewed with The Lamar Johnson Collaborative a few months ago. It turned out great and so did the label. The use of the corporate purple color of the LJC and the and the angle of the logo, which creates an ear of barley, along with the name – really awesome!
The secret ingredients are:
Designer woes, sweat, blood, tears, overconfidence, dry humor, egotistical hints and lack of design fees.
Thank you LJC for being part of our beer collaboration!
